McLemore and Traylor Declared Partial Qualifiers
After weeks of appeals, Kansas coach Bill Self announced that Ben McLemore and Jamari Traylor were ruled partial qualifiers by the NCAA and as per Big 12 policy, are ineligible for the 2011-2012 season.
McLemore and Traylor join Braeden Anderson in the 2011 recruiting class as ineligible. While McLemore and Traylor were granted financial aid to remain students at Kansas, Anderson was not. That leaves Naadir Tharpe as the only true member of the 2011 recruiting class.
Kevin Young is the only other newcomer for the Jayhawks this season. The three incoming freshmen being unavailable leaves Kansas’ roster thin, as they lost three underclassmen to the NBA Draft and three seniors from the 2010-2011 season.
