Sporting KC Wins Road Leg Of Conference Semifinals
Sporting Kansas City defeated the Colorado Rapids 2-0 on Sunday night to take a commanding lead in the MLS Eastern Conference Semifinals. As long as Sporting Kansas City doesn’t lose by more than a goal on Wednesday at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, Sporting will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday.
If you don’t have Fox Soccer Channel (aka mostly everyone), you didn’t have a chance to catch the game. I was lucky enough to find a streaming video link to watch the game.

In the 57th minute, Tyrone Marshall picked up a red card for a foul tackle. Bunbury drained the penalty kick to put Sporting up 2-0 for a commanding lead in the game and the two-game series.
Bunbury now has four goals in his last four games and eight goals in his last 12.
“Like I always say, it’s my job to score goals,” he said. “My teammates put me in great position to do that tonight. It was a great win for us, but we’re not going to get complacent. We know we have a big game on Wednesday. We know Colorado is going to be fired up.”
The Rapids will be without Marshall on Wednesday. Kosuke Kimura, Drew Moor and Caleb Folan all were placed on the Injured Reserve after Sunday’s match.
All but Folan were players who started for the Rapids in the 2010 MLS Cup that the Rapids won.
Safe to say that Sporting Kansas City has a huge advantage on Wednesday with their two-goal aggregate lead, roster advantage and home field advantage.
