The 2013-14 season is the 10th year for ESPN’s College Gameday. KU has hosted the show an all-time high five times (2005, 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2013) and has been the road team on three occasions (2006, 2010 and 2012).

Big 12 Partnering with Russell Athletic Bowl

Starting in 2014-15 and running through 2019, the Big 12 will send a team to the Russell Athletic Bowl to take on a team from the ACC (inclusive of Notre Dame).

“The addition of the Big 12 conference, with a high post-playoff selection from the ACC or Notre Dame, will cement the Russell Athletic Bowl as one of the country’s premier bowl games,” said FCSports President Tony Massey. “With a reconstructed stadium starting next year to help host top schools from the Big 12, ACC — and potentially Notre Dame — Big Ten, SEC, Orlando Bowl Week will be one of the most exciting destinations of the postseason.”

This will be one of the top bowl games of the year as it will feature ACC’s first selection after the College Football Playoff series and the Big 12’s second selection.

Kansas leads the Big 12 in Attendance

The NCAA released the national attendance leaders for men’s basketball in the 2012-13 season. Kansas led the Big 12 with an average of 16,438 fans, which ranks 10th in the nation.

Overall, the Big 12 had nine teams in the top 100 for attendance and  averaged 10,289 fans per game, which is fourth nationally among all conferences.
