Kansas trails Rice at halftime, 13-7

It is halftime in Houston and Kansas trails Rice, 13-7.

Rice scored first after Kansas quarterback Jake Heaps threw a pick-6 to Michael Kutzler. Kutzler returned the interception for a 51-yard touchdown.

The Jayhawks fired back after Heaps completed a 77-yard touchdown pass to Tony Pierson, tying the game at 7 with 9:53 left in the first half.

Following that drive, Rice kicked a 40-yard field goal to make it 10-7.

After Jake Heaps threw his second interception of the game with 2:52 remaining in the half, Rice stormed down the field. The KU defense made a couple of good defensive plays to force a 28-yard field, putting Rice up 13-7.
