Illinois fans film themselves celebrate Alexander picking… Kansas
In the end, it came down to Kansas and Illinois for Cliff Alexander. Unfortunately for Illinois fans, Alexander faked out everyone when he reached for the Illini hat first and then ditched it for the KU hat.
Alexander admitted afterwards that his teammates thought it would be funny if he did it. It drew criticism from some national media. I think he regrets doing it now, though.
Illinois fans were holding watch parties for the Alexander announcement. One fan decided to record the occasion. He ended up capturing a fanbase’s heart breaking.
I feel for you, Illinois fans. It’s unfortunate that it happened but at least you have these hilarious videos:
