Cliff Alexander has a sprained ankle

Bill Self confirmed on Tuesday night that Cliff Alexander has a sprained ankle and will be immobilized for several weeks. Alexander suffered the injury last week during a KU workout and is in a walking boot.

Alexander does not need surgery.

Andrew Wiggins inks deal with adidas

Andrew Wiggins has signed his first endorsement deal, a shoe contract worth $2 million annually with adidas. It was reported before Wiggins even played a single game for Kansas that he would sign a contract with adidas worth $140-180 million over 10 years.

Yahoo is reporting that the deal is worth $12-13 million over 5 years.

Wiggins’ real contract is not even close to that, but he is still making a sizable amount of money for a rookie.

Wiggins impressive in Vegas

Here is the analysis I received on Cavs rookie Andrew Wiggins out of Vegas so far: “That kid, wow. Just wow. Wow, wow, wow.”

Wiggins hasn’t played a Summer League game yet. The first Cleveland Cavs game is on July 11th at 7 pm central. The Cavs take on Milwaukee, so it’ll be a matchup between the No. 1 and No. 2 picks in Wiggins and Jabari Parker.

Andrew White to take his third visit

Andrew White tweeted out on Tuesday that he will visit Florida State for his third visit after transferring from Kansas this spring. White has already visited Nebraska and Notre Dame.

Naadir Tharpe headed to the D-League or maybe overseas

On Wednesday, Naadir Tharpe told CBSSports.com he won’t be returning to college next year and will try to make a D-League squad.

“I didn’t want to sit out,” Tharpe told CBS Sports. “At this point, I’d rather just try the D-League instead of sitting out a year to play a year [in college].”

If that doesn’t work, Naadir Tharpe’s best option to play basketball next year might be playing overseas… According to Mike Hopkins, who covers Providence basketball, says that Providence College is not willing to take him and UMass is out of scholarships.

Tharpe left Kansas to be “closer to his daughter.”

Maybe I’m wrong but overseas seems a little farther from Massachusetts than Kansas.
