Perry Ellis and Cliff Alexander take home preseason Big 12 awards

Perry Ellis was named 2014-15 preseason All-Big 12 and Cliff Alexander was named co-preseason freshmen of the year by the Big 12 Conference on Thursday.

The voting was conducted by the ten Big 12 coaches.

Perry Ellis was one of two unanimous selections for the All-Big 12 team. Juwan Staten was the other unanimous selection, who was also named as the preseason player of the year. Meanwhile, Cliff Alexander and Myles Turner both had five votes each to be the preseason freshmen of the year and will share the award.
