Podcast: T-Tech Sweep, Self’s Valentine, & a surprise for Daniel

In what is possibly the greatest moment ever of Inside the Paint, we keep Daniel in suspense for 41 minutes before unleashing an epic montage surprise – it’s one of our greatest moments.

Oh, and we also talk about basketball!

Kansas earned a sweep of Texas Tech with their road win on Tuesday, and the three-point shooting barrage continues to be a strength for the Jayhawks. Are they taking too many three’s? Cliff Alexander is now starting, but do we actually expect a major change in playing time? Is Perry Ellis one of the best offensive players in the history of KU? And how many Jayhawks should fans expect to leave Lawrence after just one season?

The Big 12 continues to be a maze of confusion, but we try to make sense of what we can. Pretty much every school in the conference has a major problem this weekend – Oklahoma has Kansas State, West Virginia has Iowa State, and Baylor has Scott Drew. John Calipari made some interesting comments about his team after they defeated LSU, so of course, Daniel whines about them.

Jayhawks in the NBA features a couple of names that we seldom talk about, but the John Calipari Twitter segment is far from unexpectedly arrogant. Once again, Daniel whines about a bunch of stuff.

We then move onto our Baylor preview segment with the introduction of a new segment – five prop bets for each KU game. We’d love to get the fans of Rock Chalk Blog and Through the Phog involved, so we’ll be taking a survey of the fans’ opinions. Either leave a comment on the blogs, the forums, or tweet at us your answers.

The prop bets, are, as followed: securedownload

   1. Over/under 74.5 points for Kansas?

   2. Over/under 8.5 three-pointers made by Kansas?

   3. Over/under 13.5 rebounds for Rico Gathers?

   4. Who combines for more points+assists+rebounds – Wayne Selden or (B I’m) Frank Mason?

   5. Over/under 5.5 points for Jamari Traylor?

And a bonus #6:

   6. More rebounds – Rico Gathers or Cliff Alexander + Jamari Traylor + Landen Lucas?

Let us know what you think, Jayhawk Nation.

We conclude the show by discussing who we think Bill Self’s Valentine is, but it’s Daniel’s heart that warms up when we drop a medley of his greatest moments at the end of the show. The musical piece solidifies this episode in the Inside the Paint Hall of Fame.
