About Rock Chalk Blog

Welcome to Rock Chalk Blog!

Rock Chalk Blog is a website devoted to covering Kansas Jayhawk athletics.

At Rock Chalk Blog, we are always looking for writers that would be interested in submitting content about Kansas basketball and football. Even if it’s just one article per week, it’s a great opportunity to share your passion with other Jayhawk fans. If you’re interested, email your information, your ideas and a sample of your work to [email protected].

If you have any questions, comments, complaints or inquiries about advertising, email Ryan Landreth at [email protected].

You can also support Rock Chalk Blog by shopping our TeePublic Merch Store! We have tons of KU-inspired merch that you can only find on TeePublic, including shirts, hoodies, sweaters, phone cases, stickers and more.

Lead writer, editor, Inside the Paint host, co-owner | Twitter

I’m a recent graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University. In addition to writing for Rock Chalk Blog, I host the Inside the Paint podcast that covers KU basketball, and I write for Royals Review in the summer. My grandma has had season tickets to Jayhawk basketball for 30 years, and I have the privilege of going to most games with her. My fiancée is beautiful, and I get to announce and write about sports regularly. My life is very good.

Recruiting | Twitter

I am the recruiting guy for Rock Chalk Blog. I have been a diehard KU basketball fan since I was a little boy, and I have followed recruiting extensively since I was 13. Some people like to say that I am the voice of KU Twitter – not sure if that is a good thing or not. Besides making bad predictions outside of recruiting, I’m a recent graduate of MidAmerica with a degree in marketing and my favorite Jayhawk of all-time is Jamari Traylor!

Landen Fields

Inside the Paint host, columnist

I’m a freshman in college. I was also homeschooled, which gave me the ability to watch ESPN all day. I love the Jayhawks, and I love to write about them. I’m also a huge fan of Star Wars, Marvel, and action/sci-fi movies. I hope to have a career in sports media one day, and I am grateful for this first step into a larger world.

I’ve been a KU fan as long as I can remember, which I chalk up to my love of basketball and the influence of my brothers. I am a graduate of Oklahoma State, but I routinely wore my blue in Gallagher-Iba (yes, I was that guy). I grew up idolizing Wayne Simien and Christian Moody, and I think the post-entry pass is a lost art. I hope you enjoy my work.

Proud KU marketing alum spreading the rock chalk chant throughout the east coast. Sucker for a good quality crying Jordan meme and forever wishing KU football will return to its 2008 glory. Outside of KU sports, you can find me hopelessly pulling for my Phoenix Suns and praying Joe Flacco becomes elite.

I’m from a small town in northern India

na. I grew up a Notre Dame fan, as many of my family members graduated from there. My Kansas fandom is something I brought upon myself when I was little. I loved the Hinrich teams of the early 2000s, and ever since they I’ve been hooked on Kansas basketball. I’m excited for the opportunity here at Rock Chalk Blog. I hope to provide you with some thoughtful and informational analysis.

Just a typical teenager that thinks above the box. Probably have to deal with more Kansas State fans than you do. I love playing sports and also sharing about my passions through writing. I also do a little bit of graphic design work… Oh, and I have a last name that may or may not be pronounced 50 different ways.

Jake Smith

Bio coming soon. Jake writes about KU football. Please pray for him.
