Kansas (13-3, 3-0) starts a two game home stand with Iowa State (12-4, 2-1) visiting Lawrence. Wednesday night’s win against Texas Tech was the widest margin of victory (81-46) for a KU road team in the Bill Self era. Kansas has started out 3-0 in conference play for the 15th time in the 16 year history of the Big 12. The Jayhawks bring a 14 game home court winning streak into the game. Kansas will recognize its 2002 Final Four team during the Iowa State contest.

Iowa State faces its second straight top 10 opponent after losing to No. 9 Missouri 76-69 on Wednesday night. The Cyclones have lost 12 straight to Kansas and haven’t won at Allen Fieldhouse since Feb. 19, 2005, which was their last victory in the series. Iowa State is just 8-110 against ranked opponents on the road.

Kansas center Withey leads the Big 12 in blocks at 2.9 per game and has swatted away 11 shots in the last three games. Thomas Robinson leads the league with 11 double-doubles averaging 17.6 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. KU has been ranked in each of the last 57 Associated Press polls dating back to the 2008-09 season. Included are 40 times when the Jayhawks have appeared in the AP Top 10.

Kansas leads the all-time series with Iowa State 170-58 dating back to 1908 and has won the last 12 meetings. KU holds an 87-15 record against ISU in games played in Lawrence, including a 46-9 record in Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks have defeated the Cyclones six-straight times in Allen Fieldhouse dating back to 2005. Since the inception of the Big 12, Kansas is 25-7 against Iowa State with a 23-7 record in regular-season play and a 2-0 mark in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.

Kansas Keys To The Game

  • Don’t let off the gas pedal from the beginning of the game, start strong and go for the kill
  • Consistent guard play, paging Elijah Johnson…
  • Quality minutes for bench to continue to grow for later this season and beyond

Iowa State Keys To The Game

  • Royce White: Sophomore forward (13.1 pts / 9.1 reb per game) who plays the 4 position while bringing the ball up every play. Think about that…
  • Stay close as long as possible while hoping for a miracle.

  • First of all I would like to say great blog! I had
a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.

I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing.
I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or
    tips? Thanks!

  • Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your content seem to be running off the screen in Ie.

I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility
but I thought I’d post to let you know. The style and design look great though!
Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Many thanks
