Cliff Alexander picks Kansas
On Friday afternoon, Cliff Alexander announced on ESPNU that he’ll be attending the University of Kansas next season.
Alexander, a 6-9 power forward from Chicago, is ranked No.3 on 247Sports (as well as many other recruiting lists) in the Class of 2014. He chose between Kansas, Illinois, DePaul and Memphis. This is Bill Self’s second-highest rated recruit ever. Of course, the highest-rated recruit was Andrew Wiggins.
Alexander’s recruitment has taken many twists and turns. Alexander was recruited heavily by home-state schools and it was believed that he would stay close to home because of his family. However, Alexander’s girlfriend (Caelynn Manning-Allen, below) plays on Kansas’ women’s team.
Alexander joins Kelly Oubre as the two current members of Kansas’ 2014 recruiting class.
