Cliff Alexander wins Naismith Boys High School Player of the Year
On Friday, Cliff Alexander was named both the Naismith Boys High School Player of the Year and the Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year.
Alexander, who averaged 24 points, 15 rebounds and six blocked shots per game for Curie High School in Chicago, was one of three finalists for the award, given out by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. Kelly Oubre was one of the other three finalists.
Alexander becomes the second-straight Jayhawk to win the Naismith Boys High School Player of the Year. Andrew Wiggins won it last year (and was the first ever Jayhawk to do so).
Both Alexander and Oubre will compete in the McDonald’s All-American game on April 2nd in Chicago.
