Where are they now? Jayhawks in the NBA edition
This offseason led to a lot of Jayhawks moving around the league, from Embiid and Wiggins getting drafted to players signing with new or old teams.
To help you keep track of all these moves, here is an offseason guide to the Jayhawks in the NBA and where they are now:
Andrew Wiggins
Andrew Wiggins got drafted No. 1 overall by the Cleveland Cavs. Wiggins has participated with the Cavs in their Summer League. Additionally, Wiggins has been the center of attention in the Kevin Love sweepstakes. Many believe he’ll be traded for Kevin Love sometime this summer.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid was drafted No. 3 overall by Philadelphia 76ers. Embiid is currently rehabbing his foot, which he had surgery on a week before the draft. Embiid is also making people laugh with his hilarious tweets.
Tarik Black
Tarik Black is currently with the Houston Rockets Summer League squad.
Paul Pierce
Paul Pierce spent last season with the Brooklyn Nets after getting traded there from the Celtics. It appeared Pierce nor the Nets wanted him to return to Brooklyn. He’ll head to his third team in as many seasons as Pierce signed a two-year deal with the Washington Wizards.
Mario Chalmers
Mario Chalmers is headed back to the LeBron-less Miami Heat. Chalmers will most likely get his starting spot back but won’t be a title contender quite like they were wit LeBron James. Chalmers has spent his entire career with the Heat.
Kirk Hinrich
Kirk Hinrich returned to the Bulls in 2012 and he will spend another two years in Chicago.
Xavier Henry
Xavier Henry re-signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. Henry played the 2013-14 season with the Lakers.
Brandon Rush
Brandon Rush is headed back to the Golden State Warriors. Rush played last season with the Jazz after spending time with the Warriors in previous seasons.
Cole Aldrich
Cole Aldrich is staying in New York as he re-signed with the Knicks. Aldrich played 46 games for the Knicks last season. He’s actually leading the NBA Summer League in rebounds.
Drew Gooden
Drew Gooden will join Paul Pierce in Washington. Gooden only played 22 games last season as he signed late in the year. Gooden and Pierce will solidify a young locker room with their veteran presence.
Darrell Arthur
Darrell Arthur kicked off Jayhawk free agency by re-signing with the Denver Nuggets.
