Andrew Wiggins traded to Timberwolves
According to the Associated Press, the Cleveland Cavaliers have tentatively agreed to deal Andrew Wiggins as part of a package to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Wiggins, who was drafted No. 1 overall by the Cavs in the 2014 NBA Draft on June 26, signed his rookie contract on July 25th and is unable to be officially traded until 30 days past the signing.
The trade will send Kevin Love to Cleveland to form a new big three of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Love.
Minnesota hasn’t made the playoffs since 2004 after they made eight straight appearances. The franchise hasn’t been the same since they traded Kevin Garnett to the Celtics in 2007.
The Timberwolves have a talented and athletic roster. Ricky Rubio is one of the best ball distributors in the league, ranking fourth in the NBA in assists per game.
Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins will team up together as rookies and will easily impress Minnesota fans with their dunking abilities.
