Houston Rockets sign Tarik Black
On Wednesday, Houston announced they signed Tarik Black to a rookie contract. Black, who went undrafted in this year’s NBA Draft, signed on to Houston’s Summer League team and played on both the team’s Orlando and Las Vegas Summer League squads.
Black only played one season at Kansas after making a graduate transfer from Memphis. Black finished the 2013-14 season averaging 5.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game. The forward out of Memphis, Tenn., went out with a bang with the Jayhawks as he scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in his final two NCAA tournament games.
Overall, Black appeared in 135 NCAA contests, averaging 8.4 points on 61.4% shooting, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.
