RCB Power Rankings Week 16
Landen and I are back with this week’s Power Rankings! As we head into conference tournament play, check out where we think everybody stands.
- Gonzaga
- Baylor
Baylor looks to be back in form after beating WVU and Oklahoma State. - Illinois
- Michigan
Michigan has lost 2 of their last 3–losses to Illinois and Michigan State. - Iowa
- Ohio State
Ohio State has lost four (!!) games in a row. Three of those losses were to teams ranked in the top ten, though. - Alabama
- Villanova
Without Collin Gillespie, Villanova is on shaky ground. - Houston
- West Virginia
- Kansas
Kansas is right in the thick of it once again, going from unranked to 11 in the AP poll. A strong showing at the Big 12 Tournament would likely earn them a 3 seed. - Arkansas
- Florida State
- Loyola Chicago
- Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State is playing good ball when it matters. They took down Oklahoma and upset WVU without star Cade Cunningham. Keep an eye on the Cowboys.
Biggest Faller: Villanova (in spirit)
No one fell super far this week, but the loss of Gillespie is a big one for Villanova. They lost to Providence on Saturday, and it’s hard to see them advancing in the NCAA tournament.
Mid-Major to Watch: Just go watch any conference tournament you can.
All of the mid-majors are have played or are going to be playing their conference tournaments this week, so we recommend just going out and watching any of those games you can so you can get an idea of how good the mid-majors are that make it into the field of 68.
And that’s our list! We haven’t quite decided if we are going to do another one prior to Selection Sunday or not, but we will probably do something so keep your eyes out!
