Big 12 Power Poll – Week 10
1. Nebraska
Week 9 Result: Win, 31-17 vs. Missouri
Week 10: @ Iowa State
Previous Ranking: #2
Nebraska regained the top position after beating up on Missouri. Taylor Martinez didn’t play at all the second half but they didn’t need him as Roy Helu Jr. rushed for a Nebraska-record 307 yards and three touchdowns. Helu Jr. had TD runs of 66, 73 and 54. Nebraska had a 24-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
2. Oklahoma
Week 9 Result: Win, 43-10 vs. Colorado
Week 10: @ Texas A&M
Previous Ranking: #1
Week 9 Result: Loss to Nebraska
Week 10: @ Texas Tech
Previous Ranking: #5
4. Baylor
Week 9 Result: Win, 30-22 at Texas
Week 10: @ Oklahoma State
Previous Ranking: #6
Baylor has been the surprise of the Big 12 so far. They lost to TCU in week three, which is very respectable and they dropped a shootout at Texas Tech. If they can beat Oklahoma State next week, they could push to be the South’s representative in the Big 12 championship game.
5. Oklahoma State
Week 9 Result: Win, 24-14 at Kansas State
Week 10: vs. Baylor
Previous Ranking: #3
Oklahoma State went on the road and took care of business against Kansas State. Their matchup with Baylor this week will be a must watch.
6. Texas A&M
Week 9 Result: Win, 45-27 over Texas Tech
Week 10: vs. Oklahoma
Previous Ranking: #8
7. Texas
Week 9 Result: Loss, 22-30 vs. Baylor
Week 10: @ Kansas State
Previous Ranking: #4
8. Iowa State
Week 9 Result: Win, 28-16 vs. Iowa State
Week 10: vs. Nebraska
Previous Ranking: #11
Iowa State upset Texas and then played well against Kansas these last two weeks. I felt like this would be the perfect time to give them a bump in the ratings before they get stomped by Nebraska this week.
9. Kansas State
Week 9 Result: Loss, 14-24 vs. Oklahoma State
Week 10: vs. Texas
Previous Ranking: #7
Week 9 Result: Loss, 27-45 at Texas A&M
Week 10: vs. Missouri
Previous Ranking: #9
Week 10: @ Kansas
Previous Ranking: #10Week 10: Colorado
Previous Ranking: #12
Once again, Kansas is at the bottom of the rankings. The good news is that they had a lead this past week and they were winning at halftime. However, they blew the second half and lost again. They have their best chance at a conference win this week vs. Colorado.
