Drew Gooden signs with the Wizards

Great news for Drew Gooden, who hasn’t played in an NBA game since April 6th last year, as he has signed a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards.

The former lottery pick from Kansas is expected to join the Wizards before Thursday’s game against the Toronto Raptors.

The Wizards signed him after losing Nene Hilario to a sprained left MCL, who is expected to be miss six weeks.

This is Gooden’s 10th team in 12 NBA seasons.

From Yahoo Sports:

Gooden, 32, has played with nine teams in his career averaging 11.8 points and 7.6 rebounds. The 6-foot-10, 250-pounder averaged career-lows of 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds with the Milwaukee Bucks last season. The Bucks used the amnesty clause on July 16 on the final two years and $13.3 million remaining on Gooden’s contract.
