The Jayhawks ran their winning streak to 17 straight games on Thursday night, defeating the Maryland Terrapins to move into the Elite Eight for the first time in four years.
Kansas is cruising through the NCAA tournament, and Maryland was the 17th straight opponent that challenged the Jayhawks and walked away a loser. Perry Ellis continues to climb up the scoring charts, but solid contributions from the rest of KU’s core, as well as its bench, are why the team is still dancing.
Also, 2016 top recruit Josh Jackson appears to be nearing a decision between Kansas, Michigan State, and Arizona, so we break down whether or not recruiting has any place being discussed at this point in the year. We also go through quite a bit of Big 12 news, which includes two new league coaches being hired in the last week.
The Jayhawks aren’t the only Big 12 team that’s still dancing, but how much longer will the league’s good fate continue? We preview the weekend ahead, including the South regional final between No. 1 Kansas and No. 2 Villanova. The winner is headed to the Final Four, and we all feel confident that the Jayhawks will get it done.
