Big 12 Week 2 Power Poll

Week 2 of the Big 12 Conference Power Poll. Parentheses indicates last week’s position.
  1. Nebraska (1) – The Blackshirts looked amazing again against Idaho. They were up 31-3 at one point but let them get back in the game. I’m assuming they played some of their 2nd and 3rd stringers.
  2. Texas (2) – Texas looked better than week one and Garrett Gilbert had a much better game. But it was Wyoming, so we’ll see what happens against Oklahoma.
  3. Oklahoma (3) – Oklahoma rocked Florida State in week 2. The No. 17 Seminoles were down 44-7 at one point.
  4. Texas A&M (4) – A&M’s offense proved why it is best in the Big 12 again. Jerrod Johnson had four touchdowns and 359 passing yards this week. Only Landry Jones of OU had a better week.
  5. Texas Tech (8) – Tech crushed New Mexico to move up three slots this week. Tech looks better than I thought they would be. Taylor Potts threw for 293 yards and 3 TDs.
  6. Missouri (6) – Beat up poor McNeese State. Henry Josey wins best performance with the worst name of the week and had three rushing touchdowns.
  7. Oklahoma State (5) – Oklahoma State only beat Troy by three points. Their win against Washington State last week was overshadowed by the fact that Washington State is awful.
  8. Kansas State (7) – UCLA got blanked at home by Stanford, 0-35. K-State’s barely escaping win against UCLA doesn’t look that impressive anymore.
  9. Kansas (12) – The Jayhawks got the win over Georgia Tech at home, playing much better than week 1. If they can get the win on the road this week, they’re looking at third place in the North.
  10. Baylor (10) – Baylor beat up Turner Gill’s old squad, Buffalo.
  11. Colorado (9) – Got beat up by Cal 52-7.
  12. Iowa State (11) – Lost to Iowa 35-7.
