ITP: Azubuike, Iowa State, and Kentucky Preview

The Jayhawks scored a big-time commitment from a five-star recruit. Will that help turn around a sour last few weeks of Kansas basketball?

Udoka Azubuike, one of the best centers in the class of 2016, committed to Kansas on Thursday. We open the show by acknowledging that we weren’t always super optimistic about KU’s chances for the big man, but we’re glad we were wrong.

As far as action on the court, we get to recap another loss as the Jayhawks fell this week to Iowa State. Things are still not adding up to much success for the Jayhawks, but the events of this week may have created enough momentum to swing KU back around in the right direction.

It’s time for the marquee matchup of nonconference play, as the Jayhawks take on the Wildcats of Kentucky – and PayPal Cal. What to expect from what’s sure to be a crazy atmosphere at Allen Fieldhouse this weekend.
