ITP: Kansas gets past Texas to win Big 12 opener
The Jayhawks closed out 2017 by winning their 27th straight conference opener, taking Friday night’s battle against Texas in Austin.

No. 11 Kansas has won four straight games, including Friday’s 92-86 conference-opening win in Austin against the Texas Longhorns. It didn’t come easy for the Jayhawks, but behind 17 three-pointers, they did just enough on the defensive end to escape with their 27th straight conference-opening win.
KU looks to once again be the favorite in a loaded Big 12 race, but there were plenty of impressive statements made by competitors across the first weekend of league play. We recap all of the action and break down a crazy weekend of college basketball that saw the last of the unbeatens go down. We also preview KU’s next opponent, a top-20 team in Texas Tech looking to win its first-ever game in Lawrence.
