It’s been a crazy offseason for Kansas basketball. The Jayhawks have seen five players from the 2020-21 team leave the program, and one of their 2021 commitments re-opened his recruitment just today. As of now, Kansas projects to have eight new players on the 2021-22 roster, and considering how last season went, that’s not a bad thing.
The Jayhawks project to be a top-five team in the preseason polls for 2021-22. If you’re a believer in the squad Bill Self is putting together, now could be the perfect time to place a bet on next year’s Kansas team. According to Sports Betting Dime, Kansas’ opening odds to win the 2022 NCAA tournament are +1800, with 11 different teams opening with better odds. Do you think there are 11 teams that have a better chance of winning the championship next year than the Jayhawks? If not, this could be the perfect time to place a bet.
With eight Elite Eight appearances in Bill Self’s 18 years at Kansas, it would surprise nobody to see the Jayhawks back in the regional finals next year. Getting past that round has proved troublesome as of late, but with a roster this talented, there’s no reason to think this team couldn’t be the one to bust down the wall and get to a Final Four. If they get there, I’m not sure there’s anybody that should be bet on ahead of the Jayhawks.
