RCB Power Rankings Week 8

We are back with the RCB Power Rankings for Week 8! Not a whole lot of movement throughout the top ten this week, but there are a few newcomers in the bottom five. Check out our list below.

  1. Gonzaga
  2. Baylor
  3. Villanova
  4. Iowa
  5. Texas
Texas barely got by West Virginia on a three-point buzzer-beater by Andrew Jones who recently fought off leukemia. Pretty cool to see him having a good year.
  6. Kansas
  7. Houston
  8. Creighton
  9. Tennesse
  10. Wisconsin
  11. Michigan
Michigan remains undefeated and continues to move up our rankings. They have a tough test against Wisconsin on Tuesday.
  12. Clemson
Clemson is our first newcomer to our list this week. They have wins over #18 Florida State, at Miami, and N.C. State.
  13. Texas Tech
  14. Illinois
The Fighting Illini are super tough to place this year. They have lots of good wins and several bad losses. They lost to unranked Maryland this past week, but we don’t think they should drop all the way out.
  15. Louisville
Louisville is the other newcomer this week. Their lone loss was to Wisconsin early in the season. More recently they have beaten #19 Virginia Tech and Boston College.

Biggest Faller: Rutgers
Rutgers is our biggest faller this week. They were previously ranked 13th in our rankings, but have lost 4 out of the last 5 games they’ve played including two losses to Ohio State, a loss to Iowa, and a loss to Michigan State.

Mid-Major to Watch: Winthrop Eagles
You might not be able to physically watch the Eagles on TV, but they are 11-0 and are projected to win all of their remaining games according to KenPom. Not bad for a team that has made the NCAA tournament a couple of times in the previous years.
